DJI Phantom 4 Advanced Now Available to Order
DJI Phantom 4 Advanced is the new kid on the block – it’s new, it’s here it’s the Phantom 4 Advanced and it is available from DJI now here. Not even 6 months have passed since the Phantom 4 Pro. This perhaps will bring to an end the lifecycle of the Phantom 4 series (from April 30th). So what goodies is DJI bringing to the table with it’s new baby Phantom?
It comes in packing a punch with 30 minutes flight time, forward facing object avoidance, 1″ 20 Megapixel camera which can shoot 4k/60fps video and burst mode stills at 14 fps.
The build is from titatnium alloy and magnesium alloy which is both great with respects to weight and durability. The DJI Phantom 4 Advanced is a lovely piece of kit.
So what has changed with the Phantom 4 Advanced?
In all honesty, not a lot has changed compared to the 4 Pro. The image sensor is pretty much the same, the range since the Mavic hit the scene is a consistant 4.3 miles and obstacle avoidance as standard. These tools will greatly assist any drone pilot new or experianced. So why is this cheaper ? Well there are a few lesser specs including the fact that the 4 Advanced loses the rear vision sensors and two infrared sensors in the FlightAutonomy system. It also drops support for the 5.8Ghz band but, the caveat here is that if you don’t know why you need the 5.8Ghz frequency band, go with the cheaper option of the Phantom 4 advanced. Again similar to the way DJI have gone since the Mavic brand, there are two varient option one with a standard controller in which you supply the tablet or smartphone. The other has the integrated 5.5-inch 1080p touchscreen.
